Mike’s Roofing and Building, Van Nuys, California, is celebrating 50 years since opening its doors in 1972. Employees at Mike’s Roofing and Building have always been at the core of the company’s success. In addition to serving their customers, the company’s employees have also worked to support the community. Employees have cleaned up a local park that was in jeopardy of closing down due to lack of municipal resources and they also donated their time to repair and to replace roofs on community centers such as the Mid-Valley YMCA and Tierra del Sol.
These community roofing projects saved thousands of dollars in operating expenses, which enabled both community organizations to provide more services to those in need. Last year, the company donated time and materials for a new roof for a San Fernando Valley United States Marine veteran through a partnership with the Owens Corning® Roof Deployment Project. This national program gave Mike’s Roofing and Building the opportunity to show appreciation and to honor United States military veterans.
