Go Ahead & Get Dirty, WORX Has You Covered

by Ali Turner, editorial assistant

We had an uncharacteristically wet summer here in Reno, Nevada, with rainfall averaging a bit higher than usual. While the high desert rainstorms brought much-needed relief to our parched grass and plants, it also left our deck, walkways, and exterior walls and windows coated in moss, algae, and dirt. As summer rolls out and cool weather is invited in, our building was in need of a post-summer facelift.

Thankfully, we were able to test out the new WORX® 40V Hydroshot Portable Power Cleaner. It is a revolutionary new lightweight power cleaner that is incredibly portable, as it draws from any fresh water source. While we used it to spruce up our office building, we could easily imagine utilizing it to clean countless other jobsite projects. Setup was quick and easy, and we were blasting grime away in no time.

A four-in-one pressure nozzle came in very handy as our team navigated around different areas of our property, all of which required varying degrees of intensity. The pressure maxed out at 450 psi, which completely obliterated any traces of dirt on our building’s façade. The low setting provides a gentler touch at 290 psi. We found this setting to be more appropriate for window screens and a delicate, painted fence on our property. A simple switch of a button near the handgrip allowed us to change from high to low without breaking our stride.

These impressive power options are thanks to two 20V Max Lithium batteries from WORX. At less than 7 lbs., our crew did not experience fatigue from holding the portable device for long periods of time. This lightweight machine is ideal for moving from jobsite to jobsite, and is also easy to store. In addition to the two-speed pressure settings, a four-in-one nozzle gives users four spray angles, including 0º, 15º, 25º, and 40º. This is invaluable when cleaning various types of surfaces. A one-size-fits-all pressure washer can damage paint, mortar, wood, and more if not used correctly. The nozzle settings on the WORX 40V Hydroshot allow users to increase distance without sacrificing force, and vice versa.

WORX has offered portable power tools for a long time, and this new 40V Hydroshot Portable Power Cleaner is a result of customer feedback. Contractors are always searching for powerful tools that don’t require investing in a new battery platform, and by utilizing two 20V Max Lithium battery packs instead of introducing a costly new option, WORX is allowing professionals to stick to the products they know and love. The new Hydroshot doubles up on power while still keeping the tool within its popular battery platform line. WORX Power Share™ offers the versatility of sharing batteries between both 20V and 40V power tools. The company’s battery options allows for unlimited, rechargeable power that is always ready to go whenever and wherever.

When working with two identical battery packs, it’s important to make sure they’re both charged the same amount. WORX has taken the headache out of this guessing game by installing a power indicator light on the machine to check the battery capacity. During operation, the battery indicator will constantly sense and automatically display on the indicator the condition of the battery with the lowest power level. A series of light patterns let the user know the status of the batteries, from fully charged to discharged.

The WORX 40V Hydroshot Portable Power Cleaner Kit comes with the pressure washer, long lance, four-in-one nozzle, two 2.0Ah 20V Power Share batteries, dual charger, and 20’ hose. The possibilities are endless when using this tool, so don’t be afraid to let your stuff get dirty.
