Thousands Expected for 34th Annual WSRCA Convention in Las Vegas, Nevada

If it's June, it must be Vegas! Thousands of roofing professions are expected to converge at the Paris Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada, June 8-11, 2008, as the Western States Roofing Contractors Association (WSRCA) holds its 34th annual convention and tradeshow, Western Roofing Expo 2008. Tradeshow The Paris convention center will be the site of the WSRCA's annual tradeshow. More than 175 manufacturers, distributors, and suppliers of roof-related products, materials, equipment, and services are expected to be on hand displaying the newest products available in the West. Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase a tax-deductible raffle ticket supporting the educational foundation of WSRCA, the Davis Memorial Foundation. This years' raffle Grand Prize will be a 2008 Mercedes Benz C300 Sports Sedan. Seminars Seminars presented this year by the WSRCA are geared to address improving your business, new trends, and topics that will appeal almost any roofing contractor in the West. Seminars include: How To Succeed and Thrive in Today's "Soft" Market; Photovoltaics - Solar Has Come Of Age!; Fundamentals of Professional Estimating; Spray Applied Polyurethane Foam GAF CARE: Energy Efficient and Green Roofing Systems; Roofing Over Wet OSB Roof Decking? Better Think Twice!; Execution of a Waterproofing Project (Step-By-Step); Johns Manville BURSI Seminar; Crisis Management Marketing Techniques Seminar: Does Anyone Know Who You Are?; and Ask the Experts Roundtable Discussions. Annual Luncheon This year's annual luncheon will feature Larry Winget, one of the most in-demand speakers working today. He has addressed associations and corporations around the globe about his simple, yet profound approach to life and business. His style is confrontational, truthful, and hilarious. Roof Consultants Institute On June 11, RCI Region IV will present their program designed specifically for consultants and contractors. Seminars this year include: 2008 Building Code Changes You Need to Know; Polycarbon-Polycarbonate Waterproofing Technology; Energy Efficient Roof Designs with Single-Ply Roofing Membranes; Integrating Thin-film Photovoltaics Onto Building Envelope Surfaces; and Analysis of a Roof Failure. Davis Foundation Tournaments On Sunday, June 8, the Davis Memorial Foundation, WSRCA’s charitable scholarship arm, will host two fundraising sports tournaments. The Golf Tournament will be played at the Revere Golf Club, and the Sporting Clays Tournament will be staged at the Desert Lake Country Club in Henderson. Other Activities On June 8, WSRCA President Sharon Keppler will welcome attendees to the WSRCA's 34th Annual Convention by staging the Presidential Reception. The "Lively-Silent Auction" will be held at the same time, benefiting the Davis Memorial Foundation scholarship program. On June 9, the Legislative Luncheon will bring attendees up-to-date on what is happening with regard to regulatory agencies that will affect the Western roofing industry.
