Pneumatic Nailer

PaslodeÕs R175-C Offers More Power, is Lightweight & Ergonomically Designed

by Marcus Dodson, associate editor

Next to payday, probably the most important thing a contractor can give to his crew to keep them motivated and working is to provide good, dependable equipment. A fast, reliable roofing nail gun should be at the top of every residential contractorÕs equipment list. The Paslode RooferÕs Choice R175-C roofing coil nailer is a proven pneumatic tool that fills the bill.

Equipped with carbide-tip nose, hardened-steel driver blade, and housing wear plates for added durability, the R175-C roofing coil nailer drives nails flush into all roofing materials. The ergonomic tool drives up to eight fasteners per second and accepts fasteners with lengths from 7/8 to 1 3/4Ó and diameters to .120Ó. An adjustable shingle guide keeps roofing shingles straight and properly aligned. Other features include aluminum magazine; two-fingered trigger; an adjustable diffuser cap that allows air exhaust to be directed away from the user; a Suregrip handle that provides comfort in all types of weather; and, a long, narrow nose for precise fastener placement.

This new version of the R175-C features increased durability and more power. This roofing coil nailer from Paslode offers all of the power needed to drive nails into roofing materials, and features a durable design for reduced maintenance. The R175-C features 20% more power than the original model to consistently drive nails flush into all roofing materials.

Weighing only 5.8 pounds, the ergonomically designed unit is ideal for use by roof workers, general contractors, and homebuilders to perform a variety of roofing applications including asphalt shingles and fiberglass shingles. The nailer comes packed with an instruction manual and safety glasses.

On the roof, we found the R175-C easy to load and use. Once the nails were loaded, we did a couple of test firings to make sure our depth adjustment was correct, put on our safety glasses, and we were good to go.

Nailing was fast and accurate, bump firing went as we expected, and the only way we were able to jam this nailer was by deliberately firing nails on top of each other. The jamming was easily cleared and we were back to work in no time. The R175-C was miserly with the amount of air used, and even when we deliberately let the air pressure fall below manufacturers recommendations, the nailer kept firing. We also dropped the R175-C from shoulder height several times onto the wood roof deck with no ill effects.

The Paslode R175-C is a dependable nailer that will keep your crews working and production levels high. ¥¥¥
