IIBEC, the International Institute of Building Enclosure Consultants (formerly RCI, Inc.), has announced the hiring of Emily Lorenz, PE, as its new senior director of technical services. She will represent the association as a liaison to various outside organizations, including supporting its initiatives in relation to building codes and standards.
“Lorenz’s experience, both as chair of ASTM Committee E60 and as a member of ASTM Committee E06, gives us confidence that she will be a great advocate for IIBEC’s positions on building enclosure-related issues at code hearings and elsewhere throughout the industry,” stated IIBEC CEO/EVP Brian Pallasch, CAE. “We are excited to welcome her to the IIBEC team.”
“IIBEC will benefit from Lorenz’s technical experience, as well as her deep knowledge of the code development process,” IIBEC president Bob Card, RBEC, REWO said.
Lorenz most recently was employed as director of sustainability and publications for the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, and also worked as an independent building enclosure consultant. Lorenz has a Bachelor of Science Degree and Master of Science Degree in structural engineering from Michigan Technological University, is on the steering committee of the ASCE/SEI Sustainability Committee, and is also a member of ASHRAE.
