Columbia Roofing and Sheet Metal, a specialty roofing contractor in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California, is excited to welcome back Scott Haltiner as its sheet metal foreman/manager. In this position, Haltiner will be responsible for supervision and control of the Sheet Metal Department, while providing technical direction and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
“Upon leaving Columbia in July 2016, I returned to the family business where I have been the sole fabricator and installer,” he noted. “I believe my skill set and work experience will be a great asset to Columbia Roofing and Sheet Metal. It’s good to be back.”
Mark Carpenter, CEO of Columbia Roofing and Sheet Metal, said Haltiner’s more than two decades in the roofing industry is a very strong attribute for his 22-year-old commercial roofing company, which recently successfully completed the Carlisle® ES-1 Certification Approval Program allowing for 14 ES-1 tested edge metal systems.
“We’re pleased to have Haltiner back after a short time away from our company,” Carpenter said. “He has a long history in the sheet metal and roofing industry and is a master crafstman in the sheet meal field as well as a strong leader in management. He is also skilled in an area of our company that we’re focused on expanding, which is in custom sheet metal fabrication including the addition of the Carlisle ES-1 sheet metal certification. This certification is the highest standard of sheet metal fabrication in conjunction with required wind up-lift design and quality.”
Columbia Roofing and Sheet Metal has also welcomed two new commercial roofing consultants. Devin Mair and Marcy Hall are based at the Tualatin, Washington, headquarters office and they are responsible for managing current customer accounts as well as securing new business. Mair, who has worked for Columbia Roofing for a total of 12 years, has nearly two decades of roofing industry experience with a background including windows, doors, and siding. Mair attended Portland State University for two years.
Hall joins Columbia Roofing with decades of sales experience. She worked in roofing distribution before joining the company in November with Mair. Prior to that, Hall worked five years at ABC Supply Co. Inc., in sales. Additionally, her background includes co-ownership of a construction company, Hall and Sons Construction. She has worked in sales, marketing, and human resources and she has earned several industry certifications in ventilation and installation.
“I highly respect not only our CEO, but all of the people here at Columbia Roofing,” noted Hall. “I am overwhelmed with the professionalism of everyone here. When it came time for me to exit the distribution side of the roofing world, I decided I would stay in the market and the only choice for me was Columbia Roofing. The company’s core values align with my personal values.”
